POSITION RETENTION MEMBER, CONNECTOR AND CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY

Abstract

The present invention describes a position-retaining member, a connector, and a connector assembly. The position-retaining member is adapted to be inserted into a connector housing (1) and is adapted to move between a final locking position and a pre-locking position; the position-retaining member (3) comprises a cantilever portion (31) and a pressure portion (32).When the position-retaining member (3) is in the final locking position, the cantilever portion (31) is pressed against a spring buckle (11) of the connector housing (1) to hold the spring buckle (11) in a locked position engaged with a protrusion (2b) of a mating housing (2) of a mating connector. When the position-retaining member (3) is in the pre-locking position, the pressure portion (32) presses the spring buckle (11) into an unlocked position separate from the protrusion (2b) of the mating housing (2), allowing the connector housing (1) to be removed from the mating housing (2). In the present invention, when removing the connector housing, there is no need for the operator to press the spring buckle, allowing the operator to grasp and remove the connector housing with two fingers, simplifying the connector removal operation.
