Abstract

The present invention relates to a point velocity meter for incompressible fluids, applicable in open channels or pressurized conduits. The meter consists of a submersible obstacle with a NACA-KFM-2 airfoil that induces the controlled generation of Eddie vortices within a measuring cavity integrated into the airfoil with a stepped geometry. The system incorporates piezoresistive pressure sensors housed in this cavity, which record pressure fluctuations. By processing these signals, the characteristic frequency of the vortices is determined, which is directly proportional to the flow velocity. This device exhibits a linear correlation between frequency and fluid velocity.
