Washing machine with removable basket assembly

Abstract

A washing machine includes a cabinet, a drum, and an impeller. The driver includes a receiver and protrusions proximate the receiver. A basket assembly is selectively engageable with the impeller to separate an interior of the drum into an exterior compartment and an interior compartment. The basket assembly includes an outer basket and an inner basket. The inner basket is movable within the outer basket. The basket assembly includes a connector configured to be positioned in the receiver. The connector includes recesses configured to receive the protrusions. The basket assembly includes a locking function coupled to the connector. The locking device includes protrusions that operate between a retracted position and a deployed position. A biasing element is configured to bias the locking element in the deployed position to lock the protrusions into the recesses and thereby lock the basket assembly to the driver.
