Abstract

A detonator comprising a substrate, a controller mounted on the substrate, and a sensor coupled to the controller for measuring the detonator's temperature, pressure, acceleration, or other environmental parameter. The controller is configured to transmit the measured environmental parameter from the detonator to a remote master controller, execute an action in response to a measured environmental parameter value, and / or prevent or modify at least one function of the detonator in response to the measured environmental parameter value.
