FIRST RAIN DIVERSION SYSTEM

Abstract

The present invention relates to a system (10) that allows the automatic diversion of rainwater flowing through downspouts, discarding the first millimeters of rain collected on the roof of a building at the beginning of a precipitation event, which have a high concentration of contaminants, and subsequently redirecting the flow of rainwater of better quality to a main storage tank or cistern. This first-flush diversion system (10) is characterized by incorporating a collection surface (11) configured independently of the building's roof, which allows directing a flow of rainwater with a low concentration of contaminants to a first-flush storage tank (30).The first rainfall diversion system (10) also incorporates a float (32) that activates a lever mechanism (20) responsible for diverting the water flow through a gate (70). This system (10) operates autonomously, does not require electrical power, requires minimal maintenance that can be performed by unqualified personnel, and has a compact configuration that allows for standardized implementation for various catchment area sizes.
