Abstract

The present invention relates to a delayed-swelling, supramolecular crosslinked preformed particle (PPG-Supra) gel-like nanocomposite for water control in oil reservoirs, as well as for enhanced recovery processes in heterogeneous and fractured oil reservoirs, wherein said nanocomposite comprises: a terpolymer made up of N-vinylpyrrolidone (VP), acrylamide (AAm) and the sodium salt of 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropansulfonate (AMPSNa); modified sodium bentonite as a reinforcing agent; N,N-methylenebisacrylamide (MBA) as a covalent crosslinking agent; partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (HPAAm) functioning as an interpenetrating network; and brine as a dispersion medium and aid in the process of controlling and delaying the swelling of said preformed particles (PPG-Supra).
