Description

A FOLDING SIDE TABLE FOR A FOLDING CHAIR AND A COMBINATION OF A FOLDING CHAIR WITH A FOLDING SIDE TABLE FIELD OF INVENTION The present invention relates to side tables for a chair and to a folding side table in combination with a folding chair. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Folding chairs provide portable seating for a variety of indoor and outdoor events. At such events, a user may carry a variety of items, including beverages, a cell phone, a camera, and more. Depending on the type of folding chair, a beverage holder may be included. However, beverage holders have limited use and sometimes cannot securely hold multiple items. However, improvements to such constructions have been found to be desirable, particularly for folding side tables for folding chairs. Specifically, it is desirable, and has been found to be possible, to improve such folding side table constructions by providing a folding side table construction with a cross-member assembly and an arm construction that is independent of the chair's movement. This improves the strength and integrity of the side table and reduces the footprint of the side table and chair assembly when in the folded position (e.g., during storage). Furthermore, an improved chair construction that allows the side table to be mounted on the folding chair is desired, thereby enhancing the functionality of the chair and side table combination. These and other embodiments will be disclosed herein. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is to overcome deficiencies in the prior art.
