AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing communication technologies face challenges in reducing the likelihood of resource collisions between devices using sidelink transmissions, particularly when devices select resources without adequate interference assessment, leading to potential collisions and reduced communication reliability.

Method used

A method where a first device receives sidelink control information from a second device, determines potential resource collisions, and sends a collision message to prompt the second device to select an alternative resource, using reference signal received power thresholds and time windows to optimize resource selection and minimize collisions.

Benefits of technology

This approach reduces the likelihood of resource collisions and improves the reliability of communication by enabling devices to select preferred resources, thereby enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of sidelink transmissions.

Abstract

Methods, systems and devices, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for communication between user equipment. One of the methods includes receiving, by means of a first device and from a second device, direct link control information indicating a resource reservation for a single-slot resource for the second device to use for communicating with the first device; determining, by means of the first device and based at least in part on the direct link control information, whether a potential resource collision exists when the first device is scheduled to communicate with another device using the single-slot resource or when the single-slot resource is reserved by another device; and in response to the determination that the potential resource collision exists, sending, by means of the first device and within a predetermined number of slots from a reference slot, a collision message to cause the second device to determine another single-slot resource to use for communicating with the first device.
