Abstract
The invention is circumscribed to the area of aquaculture zootechnics in fish, amphibians, decapods and other aquatic organisms; it is a semi-automatic mechanical feeder programmable in schedules through a conventional timer, it is small and ideal for intensive production pens of organisms such as bullfrogs and fish, it is constructed of a metallic material such as stainless steel, fully washable, easy to clean and disinfect, to meet the sanitary needs of aquaculture farms.Inside, it has a spiral-shaped impeller that slowly but steadily transports the feed along the body of the feeder to its outlet. There, thanks to the release of energy accumulated by the tension of the auger as it completes a full rotation, the feed is shot out like a shotgun, emitting a sound. The design accepts containers of different capacities, such as one, two, five, and ten kilograms of feed. The feed containers are made of transparent plastic, such as PET, or have a funnel system for constant filling, also made of plastic for easy cleaning and disinfection.The design facilitates the dispersion of feed in the area where the organisms are located through a front outlet. The programming allows for simple feeding at different times of the day, according to nutritional needs, population density, and expected biomass. This invention improves upon the prior art by overcoming the challenges faced by aquaculture farm producers by providing a solution to the problem of semi-automatically feeding these animals at different times and in different proportions, with the aim of optimizing feeding operations and reducing feed waste.
