CLOSING

Abstract

A tamper-evident closure for a container mouth, comprising a plug and a retaining ring disposed beneath the plug to retain the closure in the container, the plug being separable from the ring, the plug and ring being joined by a pair of arms, the arms being non-frangibly connected to a common root at one end, the other end of one of the arms being frangibly connected at a location circumferentially clockwise from the root and the other end of the other arm being non-frangibly connected at a location circumferentially counterclockwise from the root, whereby the arms permit axial separation of the plug from the ring and generally adopt a V-shaped configuration when doing so and whereby the plug remains fixed to the ring.
