COLUMN BIOFILTER

Abstract

The present invention relates to a column biofilter, characterized in that it comprises a plurality of structures (a) of a resistant material, wherein the plurality of structures (a) form a column, and include a plurality of channels (b) arranged inside the structure (a) forming filter chambers (e), formed between each other by baffles (f) arranged in a zigzag pattern; at least one liquid-conducting orifice (c) and a filtration matrix (d); and a filtration method for removing impurities. The column biofilter of the present invention is useful for adsorbing organic molecules and inorganic substances and molecules such as heavy metals, salts, and other impurities from water or other liquids containing them.
