Abstract
The present invention comprises a process for obtaining a nanocomposite with an organic matrix and magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (FexOy) using basil extract (Ocimum basilicum) as a reducing and stabilizing agent. The synthesis is carried out at 200°C with a reaction time of 100 minutes and an optimal precursor-to-extract ratio of 1:1 (v:v). The process yields a nanocomposite consisting of an organic matrix of spherical carbon nanoparticles with a size of ~110 nm containing spherical iron oxide and graphene oxide nanoparticles. Finally, the magnetic field response of the nanocomposite was verified.
