Abstract
The present invention consists of a device that measures variables to calculate the thermal conductivity and / or resistance of two samples of construction systems, such as walls of any material, bricks, blocks, wood, insulation, and all types of prefabricated elements, whether hollow or solid, as well as concrete slabs, hollow blocks, or any other natural or prefabricated material, hollow or solid. The samples for measurement are of medium scale, i.e., 60 x 60 cm, which makes them easier to handle since they can weigh up to 150 kg. The device comprises a support structure containing a cabinet for placing the two pre-made samples. The cabinet consists of two cold plates and one hot plate. The samples are placed between these plates, so that they are in contact with a hot plate in the center and two cold plates on the outside. The purpose of the hot and cold plates is to create a temperature difference, allowing heat to flow through the samples. This results in more accurate measurements and enables the design or analysis of insulation systems to maintain thermal comfort inside buildings.
