Abstract
The present invention relates to a bottle for aging distilled spirits, such as tequila, mezcal or whiskey, among others, whether with or without prior aging; the materials used to manufacture the bottle are food grade, non-toxic, certified for contact with alcoholic beverages and of quality to withstand prolonged interaction with the liquid. The bottle consists of: i) a cylindrical body formed by a plurality of oak staves, cured and treated to allow the aging process, with a cross-section in the shape of an arc segment, joined together by a tongue and groove to form a ring, with a length that allows the desired volume to be generated; ii) a pair of circular glass faces, front and back, near the edges and fitted into grooves inside the cylindrical body; iii) a pair of metal rings that encircle the cylindrical body to keep the staves and the circular glass faces together; and iv) a metal neck, for filling and pouring the liquid, which provides a secure and reusable mechanical seal, including a stopper that can be metal or cork; the airtight seal between the bottle components without the use of adhesives minimizes external contamination and allows the properties of the liquor to be preserved as it evolves. The bottle's design evokes a barrel cross-section to maintain controlled contact between the spirit and the wood. Its size is practical for home or commercial use, and it allows for visualization of the color development and sedimentation. The design integrates the aesthetic value and functionality of a barrel into a container ready for sale or final consumption, eliminating intermediate transfer steps.
