APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SEPARATING COTTON / PAPER BILL GRINDING RESIDUE FROM PLASTIC

Abstract

An apparatus for separating cotton / paper and plastic waste is described, comprising: (a) a reflux cell (10) having (i) a first sedimentation chamber (14) having a feed chamber 5 (12) that is fed with the mixture of cellulose and plastic waste, the first sedimentation chamber (14) having an elongated body and a bottom (15) where, by gravity, the denser particles settle and accumulate at the bottom (15), the first sedimentation chamber (14) having an outlet (51) for extracting the denser particles and an outlet (41) for extracting the less dense particles;and (ii) a second settling chamber (20) in fluid communication with the first chamber (14), the second chamber (20) having a chamber housing a plurality of inclined plates, the second settling chamber (20) having an outlet (52) for the removal of the denser particles, an outlet (42) for the removal of the less dense particles; and a water outlet chamber (30); and (2) at least one water reservoir (32A, 32B) receiving recirculating water from the water outlet chamber (30) by a discharge line (33), said at least one reservoir being further in fluid communication with at least one pump (34) and a valve system, which feed water to the feed chamber (12) by line (37), the discharge line (33) to said at least one reservoir (32A, 32B) having a flow meter (39).;
