Abstract

A vehicle charge control device for a vehicle with a battery system (1) including a first battery, a DC-DC converter (4) stepping down electric power output from the first battery, and a second battery charged by a charge current from the DC-DC converter (4) to control the charging of the second battery includes a current detection unit that detects the charge current, a charge start unit that controls the DC-DC converter (4) to start charging the second battery when the battery system (1) starts, and a determination unit that determines whether to charge the second battery to a predetermined state less than full charge or to a fully charged state based on a time from the charging start of the second battery until the charge current detected by the current detection unit decreases to a predetermined value and a time during which the battery system (1) stops before the start.
