Abstract
The present invention relates to a system (1000) and method (500) for remote medical diagnosis of anterior ocular disease such as pterygium and keratoconus, comprising a plurality of mobile terminal client devices (10a, 10b, 10c, 10d) which are each configured to be in electronic data communication with an administration module (50) including a database (50a) of registered users residing in a remote network, and are each configured to capture and transmit user registration data and imaging data that correspond to an Anterior Segment Photographic Image (ASPI) (120) and Lateral Segment Photographic Image (LSPI) (121) of an eye of a remote user (10) to said administration module (50). The administration module (50) is configured to store user registration data and imaging data corresponding to ASPIs (120) and LSPI’s (121) of remote users (10) in the database of registered users; to transmit the imaging data corresponding to an ASPI (120) or a LSPI (121) of an eye of a remote user (10) to an image analysis module (60) residing in a remote network and subsequently receive the results of image analysis of the transmitted imaging data which comprises a diagnosis of an anterior ocular disease which afflicts the cornea or absence thereof, from the image analysis module (60); and to generate and transmit a report comprising a validated result of the analysis of the ASPI (120) and / or LSPI (121) to a mobile terminal client device (10a, 10b, 10c, 10d) of the remote user (10).
