Electrochemical cell assembly with ionic liquid-based electrolyte and method thereof

Abstract

The present invention discloses an electrochemical cell assembly and a method of fabricating the same. The electrochemical cell assembly comprises an electrolyte comprising a host material prepared from an epoxidised natural rubber to confine the electrolyte therein; an anode selected from a group comprising a sodium metal anode and a hard carbon anode derived from an oil palm mesocarp fibre; a cathode 10 prepared from Na3VxFe(1-x)PO4(y)F(1-y), where x is 0-0.5 and y is 0-0.05; and a separator prepared from a separator material selected from a group comprising a polypropylene, a cellulose-based material, and any combinations thereof.
