Abstract
The present invention provides a ceramic hollow fibre membrane (10) for membrane distillation application, characterized in that, the hollow fibre ceramic membrane (10) is a ball-clay based hollow fibre ceramic membrane that is coated with a superhydrophobic coating on surface of the membrane, wherein the superhydrophobic coating comprising dimethylformamide, DMF; poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene), PVDF-HFP; zinc oxide, ZnO; and 1H, 1H, 2H, 2H-perfluorooctyltriethoxysilane, C8. The method for fabricating the ceramic hollow fibre membrane (20) is also provided. Figure 1
