A formulation for making an interlocking compressed earth brick

Abstract

The present invention relates to a formulation for making an interlocking compressed earth brick. In the current state of the art, there are several problems that are associated with the interlocking compressed earth brick (ICEB) such as low in strength, irregularities and inconsistency in their shape and size; and limited durability due to their inability to prevent them from absorbing water. In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a formulation for making an interlocking compressed earth brick, consisting of (a) cement; (b) sand; (c) clay soil; and (d) water; characterized in that ratio of said cement, to said sand and to said clay soil is 1:2:3.
