Medication organizer

Abstract

The present invention discloses a medication organizer for storing a medication and reminding a patient to consume the medication based on a prescription. The medication organizer comprises a main compartment (100) which includes a front cover (110) and a body (120) attached to the front cover. The body (120) is formed by two opposing side walls (121a, 121b) and a back wall (122) extending therebetween. The body comprises one or more slots (123a, 123b) for storing a medication wherein the one or more slots are separated by a partition member (123) and each slot is covered by a lid (124a, 124b). A magnetic latch comprising a first magnetic member (125a, 125b) is mounted at an inner face of the lid and a second magnetic member (126a, 126b) is mounted at one end of the partition member (123) to lock and unlock the lid. The main compartment also includes a central power unit, a microcontroller unit and a memory card mounted within the front cover (110), a plurality of electronic components including an alarm, a plurality of light-emitting diode (LED), a lid sensor for detecting opening and closing of the lid and a pressure sensor placed at a bottom portion of each slot for detecting presence of the medication in the slot and a wireless communication module configured to transmit data from the memory card to an external device.
