The invention discloses a bracket assembly for securing one or more solar panels (1) to a roof, the bracket assembly comprises a base member (100) configured to be fastened to at least one roof panel (20); and a support member (200) includes: a first portion (210) attached to the base member (100); and a second portion (220) extending upwardly from the first section (210) for attachment of one or more further members (300, 400) of the bracket assembly or the solar panels (1).
