Metamaterial absorber

Abstract

The present invention relates to a metamaterial absorber (100) for solar energy harvesting comprising a dielectric substrate (10); a ground plane (20) disposed below the dielectric substrate (10); and a patch (30) disposed on top of the dielectric substrate (10); characterized by the patch (30) comprising five circular closed-shape rings (40) as resonators forming a topology structure on the dielectric substrate (10); wherein the dielectric substrate (10) is made of gallium arsenide; and wherein the ground plane (20) and the patch (30) are made of aluminium for absorption in visible frequency regime. The metamaterial absorber (100) achieves high absorption peak of 99.68% at THz regime.
