AI Technical Summary
Folding-sliding door guidance systems often experience jamming issues when door leaves are manually forced into transition areas between guide rails, leading to mechanical stress and inability to move the door leaves further, as they pivot too early relative to the furniture body's side wall.
Incorporating a deflector element in the transition area between the first and second guides to prevent premature pivoting of the door leaves, ensuring they can only pivot after being completely pulled out, thereby avoiding collisions with the furniture body or side wall, and utilizing an adjustable mounting system to prevent jamming.
The deflector element effectively controls the pivoting movement of the door leaves, preventing jamming and mechanical stress, allowing smooth operation and ensuring the door leaves can be fully extended to cover the furniture body without interference.
Abstract
Description
[0001] Guidance system for guiding at least one door leaf
[0002] The present invention relates to a guide system for guiding at least one door leaf, in particular a folding sliding door, relative to a furniture body, comprising:
[0003] - a first guide, which is designed to guide at least one door leaf along an end face of the furniture body, and
[0004] - at least a second guide, which runs perpendicular to the first guide and is designed to guide at least one door leaf along a side wall of the furniture body.
[0005] Furthermore, the invention relates to a piece of furniture comprising a furniture body, at least one door leaf movable relative to the furniture body, and a guide system of the type to be described.
[0006] In WO 2018 / 129572 A1, a guide system is shown by which two hinged door leaves can be moved between a first position, in which the door leaves are essentially coplanar to each other, and a second position, in which the door leaves are essentially parallel to each other. In the second (parallel) position, the door leaves can be recessed into a lateral insertion slot of the furniture carcass. If the door leaves are moved from the recessed position in the insertion slot to a position outside the slot, it can happen that, in a transition area between transverse guide rails, the door leaves are tilted too early relative to a side wall of the furniture carcass due to manual force. In an extreme case, this can lead to the door leaves becoming jammed against the furniture carcass, preventing further movement of the door leaves. The jamming can only be released by moving the door leaves back. This jamming subjects the door leaves and the hardware components of the guide system to severe mechanical stress.
[0007] The object of the present invention is to provide a guidance system of the type mentioned above, avoiding the disadvantages discussed above. This is achieved according to the invention by the features of claim 1. Further advantageous embodiments of the invention are defined in the dependent claims.
[0008] According to the invention, the guide system has at least one deflecting element for supporting the at least one door leaf at least in a transition area between the first and second guide, wherein the at least one deflecting element prevents a collision between the furniture body, in particular the side wall of the furniture body, and / or a panel arranged thereon and the at least one door leaf in the transition area.
[0009] In other words, at least one deflecting element is arranged in the transition area between the first and second guides, preventing premature pivoting of at least one door leaf in the transition area. This ensures that, starting from a position in which the door leaf is essentially parallel to the side wall of the furniture carcass, it can only pivot relative to the side wall after being fully extended and subsequently moved into a position that covers the furniture carcass.
[0010] According to one embodiment, the at least one deflector element can be movably mounted, preferably rotatably. The deflector element can be rotationally symmetrical, for example as a rotatable roller.
[0011] The at least one deflector element can be arranged on a mounting part connected to the side wall, preferably being designed so that the position of the at least one deflector element relative to the mounting part can be adjusted by at least one adjusting device. The adjusting device allows the deflector element to be positioned so that the at least one door leaf can be slidably supported on the deflector element and jamming of the deflector element with the door leaf is prevented.
[0012] The deflector element can be arranged either on the furniture carcass, in particular on the side wall of the furniture carcass, on a mounting part to be connected to the furniture carcass, on at least one door leaf, or on a panel movably mounted on the furniture carcass. The panel is designed to at least partially cover a gap located between the side wall of the furniture carcass and the at least one door leaf. Preferably, the panel is pivotably mounted about a vertical axis in a mounting position.
[0013] The deflecting element can have at least one convex deflecting contour for sliding support of the door leaf. This allows for improved control of the beginning, progression, and end of a pivoting movement of the door leaf in the transition area.

[0027] Fig. 1a shows a perspective view of a piece of furniture 1 with a furniture body 2 and door leaves 3a, 3b; 4a, 4b that are movable relative to it. The door leaves 3a, 3b, 4a, 4b are movably mounted by a guide system 5 between a first position, in which the door leaves 3a, 3b; 4a, 4b are essentially coplanar to each other, and a second position, in which the door leaves 3a, 3b; 4a, 4b are essentially parallel to each other. In the second (parallel) position, the door leaves 3a, 3b can be inserted into a lateral receiving compartment 8a of the furniture body 2 in a first direction of movement (M1), while the other two door leaves 4a, 4b can be inserted into a further receiving compartment 8b in the parallel position. The functionality is explained below using door leaves 3a and 3b as examples, whereby the same explanations apply to the other door leaves 4a and 4b.The guide system 5 comprises a first guide 7a with a longitudinal direction (L), wherein a guide carriage 6, which can be connected to the second door leaf 3b, is mounted to be movable along the first guide 7a.
[0028] Fig. 1b shows the furniture 1, in which the door leaves 3a, 3b have been moved from the coplanar position shown in Fig. 1a to an angled position relative to each other. The first guide 7a is designed to guide the door leaves 3a, 3b along an end face 2a of the furniture body 2. The first door leaf 3a is mounted on a support 11 via two or more furniture hinges 10. The support 11 can be inserted into the receiving compartment 8a in the first direction of movement (M1), i.e., in the direction of the depth of the furniture body 2. In the figure shown, the support 11 is in a transfer position in which it is connected to the first guide 7a in the longitudinal direction (L), so that the guide carriage 6 can be moved back and forth between the first guide 7a and the support 11.In the transfer position shown, the support 11 is releasably locked to the first guide 7a, the locking mechanism between the first guide 7a and the support 11 being releasable by the guide slide 6 entering or being inserted into the support 11. The support 11 is designed in the form of an elongated column, the length of which corresponds to at least half the height of the door leaves 3a, 3b. The two door leaves 3a, 3b are pivotally connected to each other about a vertical axis via at least one hinge fitting 9. The second door leaf 3b is mounted to move along the first guide 7a via the guide slide 6.
[0029] Fig. 2a shows the furniture 1 with the door leaves 3a and 3b, which are now aligned parallel to each other. The support 11 was unlocked from the first guide 7a by the entry of the guide slide 6, so that the support 11 (together with the guide slide 6 and the door leaves 3a, 3b) can be inserted into the receiving compartment 8a in the first direction of movement (M1) along a second guide 7b (Fig. 3) running transversely to the longitudinal direction (L). Preferably, the first guide 7a and / or the second guide 7b is / are formed on a guide rail.
[0030] Fig. 2b shows the furniture 1 with the door leaves 3a, 3b, which are now in a fully retracted position within the receiving compartment 8a. The door leaves 3a, 3b are thus movably mounted by the guide system 5, starting from a first position as shown in Fig. 1a, in which the door leaves 3a, 3b are essentially coplanar to each other, and a second position as shown in Fig. 2b, in which the door leaves 3a, 3b are essentially parallel to each other and can be received within the receiving compartment 8a. In this way, for example, a kitchen 12 as shown in Figures 2a, 2b can be completely covered, so that the kitchen 12 can be visually separated from the rest of a living space. In the illustrated embodiment, the receiving compartment 8a is formed by a side wall 13a and a partition wall 13b spaced parallel to the side wall 13a, wherein the door leaves 3a, 3b can be inserted in a position parallel to each other in the first direction of movement (M1) between the side wall 13a and the partition wall 13b.
[0031] Fig. 3a shows a perspective view of the furniture 1 with the furniture body 2, with the first door leaf 3a hidden for clarity. The first guide 7a is arranged on the furniture body 2, through which the door leaves 3a, 3b can be guided along the front face 2a of the furniture body 2. At least one second guide 7b is arranged on the side wall 13a of the furniture body 2, through which the door leaves 3a, 3b can be guided along the side wall 13a of the furniture body 2. In the illustrated embodiment, two second guides 7b, spaced apart vertically, are provided on the side wall 13a, with the support 11 (together with the door leaves 3a, 3b) being movable along the second guides 7b. On the movable support 11, two or more spaced-apart furniture hinges 10 are provided for the pivoting mounting of the first door leaf 3a.The second door leaf 3b is pivotally connected to the first door leaf 3a via at least one hinge fitting 9. The guide system 5 has at least one deflector element 15a, 15b for supporting at least one door leaf 3a, 3b in a transition area located between the first guide 7a and the second guide 7b. The at least one deflector element 15a, 15b prevents a collision between the furniture body 2, in particular the side wall 13a of the furniture body 2, and the at least one door leaf 3a, 3b in the transition area. In the illustrated embodiment, the at least one deflector element 15a, 15b is attached to the side wall 13a in a region near the bottom and in a front region of the side wall 13a.
[0032] Fig. 3b shows an enlarged view of the area circled in Fig. 3a. Two rotationally symmetrical deflecting elements 15a, 15b are visible, preferably in the form of rotatable rollers, wherein an inner side of the first door leaf 3a can roll along the first deflecting element 15a and an inner side of the second door leaf 3b can roll along the second deflecting element 15b. The deflecting elements 15a, 15b are attached to the side wall 13a via a mounting part 14, the mounting part 14 engaging under both door leaves 3a, 3b. The deflecting elements 15a, 15b are rotatably mounted on a base part 19, the position of the deflecting elements 15a, 15b relative to the mounting part 14 being adjustable by at least one adjusting device 16.
[0033] In the illustrated embodiment, the adjusting device 16 has two clamping screws 17a, 17b, wherein the base part 19 is adjustable relative to the mounting part 14 by means of at least one linear guide 18a, 18b, 18c when the clamping screws 17a, 17b are loosened, and wherein the base part 19 is fixed relative to the mounting part 14 when the clamping screws 17a, 17b are tightened. When the door leaves 3a, 3b are pulled out of the lateral receiving compartment 8a (which is formed by the side wall 13a and the partition 13b), the first door leaf 3a is spaced at a predetermined distance from the side wall 13b by contacting the first deflecting element 15a. Since the second door leaf 3b is connected to the first door leaf 3a via the hinge fitting 9 and to the guide carriage 6 via the guide carriage 6, the second door leaf 3b is also separated from the side wall 13a when pulled out of the receiving compartment 8a.A pivoting movement of the furniture hinges 10 to store the first door leaf 3a is only possible when the door leaves 3a, 3b have been completely moved out of the receiving compartment 8a of the furniture body 2.
[0034] Figures 4a-4c show the movement of the door leaves 3a, 3b out of the lateral receiving compartment 8a in a top view and in chronological sequence. In Figure 4a, the door leaves 3a, 3b are in a parallel position, in which they are inserted into the lateral receiving compartment 8a. The deflecting elements 15a, 15b are located between the two door leaves 3a, 3b. The clamping screws 17a, 17b of the adjusting device 16 are visible, by which the position of the deflecting elements 15a, 15b relative to the door leaves 3a, 3b can be adjusted.
[0035] In Fig. 4b, the support 11, on which the furniture hinges 10 are arranged for the movable mounting of the first door leaf 3a, is shown near its extended position relative to the second guide 7b (Fig. 3a). The deflecting elements 15a, 15b, however, continue to hold the door leaves 3a, 3b in a position spaced apart from the side wall 13a, preventing any pivoting movement of the furniture hinges 10 by the first door leaf 3a resting against the deflecting element 15a. Only when the door leaves 3a, 3b have been completely moved out of the lateral receiving compartment 8a is a pivoting movement of the first door leaf 3a about an axis running vertically in the mounting position possible (Fig. 4c).
[0036] Fig. 5a shows a further embodiment of the invention, wherein at least one deflector element 15a is arranged on a panel 20 to be attached to the furniture body 2. This deflector element 15a can be provided alternatively or additionally to the deflector elements 15a, 15b shown in Figures 3a, 3b, 4a-4c.
[0037] The deflector element 15a is pivotably mounted in Fig. 5a together with the cover plate 20 about a pivot axis 29, preferably one that runs vertically in the mounting position. The cover plate 20 is designed to cover a gap 31 (Fig. 6a) located between the furniture body 2, in particular the side wall 13a of the furniture body 2, and the door leaf 3a, especially when the door leaf 3a is in a fully retracted position in the receiving compartment 8a. The cover plate 20 has a first web 20a and a second web 20b projecting transversely from the first web 20a, preferably at substantially right angles. Preferably, the first web 20a and the second web 20b of the cover plate 20 have different lengths.
[0038] The cover plate 20 is pivotably connected to a fitting 22 to be attached to the furniture body 2, in particular to the side wall 13a, wherein the cover plate 20 is acted upon by a force from a force storage device 21 (in particular a tension spring) in the direction of a position covering the gap 31 (i.e., constantly in a covering position). The deflector element 15a has a deflector contour 23, preferably convex, which can interact with the door leaf 3a. In this case, too, the deflector element 15a is designed to prevent a collision between the door leaf 3a and the furniture body 2 and / or the cover plate 20 when the door leaf 3a is pulled out of the receiving compartment 8a.
[0039] Fig. 5b shows a perspective view of an exemplary furniture hinge 10 for pivotally mounting the door leaf 3a on the support 11. The furniture hinge 10 has a first stop 24 for attachment to the support 11 and a second stop 25 for attachment to the door leaf 3a. The furniture hinge 10 can be designed as a multi-joint hinge with at least five, preferably at least seven, pivot axes. The furniture hinge 10 has a movably mounted control element 27, preferably in the form of a lever, with a guide 30, preferably in the form of an elongated slot, wherein a pin 26 of the furniture hinge 10 is slidably guided in the guide 30 of the control element 27. In this way, a movement of the control element 27 is coupled to a movement of the furniture hinge 10.The control element 27 is provided with a control cam 28 which interacts with the aperture 20, making the aperture 20 movable around the axis of rotation 29 in a temporally and kinematically controlled manner.
[0040] Fig. 6a shows a top view of the door leaf 3a, which is arranged between the side wall 13a and the partition 13b and is therefore partially located in the receiving compartment 8a of the furniture carcass 2. The cover plate 20, with its mutually perpendicular webs 20a and 20b, is attached to the side wall 13a of the furniture carcass 2 via the fitting 22. The cover plate 20 is pivotally mounted about the axis of rotation 29 and, during the extension movement of the door leaf 3a, can be brought into engagement with the control cam 28 of the control element 27 of the furniture hinge 10. The cover plate 20, and in particular the first web 20a, can at least partially cover a gap 31 located between the side wall 13a and the door leaf 3a. In a position covering the gap 31, the first web 20a of the cover 20 is oriented essentially at right angles to the side wall 13a. The furniture hinge 10 with the control element 27 is arranged on the support 11, the support 11 being movable along the second guide 7b.The deflecting element 15a with the deflecting contour 23 is spaced away from the control element 27 in the vertical direction, so that the deflecting element 15a can be contacted not by the control element 27, but by the door leaf 3a.
[0041] When the door leaf 3a is pulled out of the receiving compartment 8a, the cover 20, in this case the second web 20b of the cover 20, is contacted by the control cam 28 of the control element 27. In this way, the cover 20 is pivoted about the axis of rotation 29 by the control element 27 of the furniture hinge 10, as shown in Fig. 6b. The pivoting movement of the cover 20 also moves the deflector element 15a about the axis of rotation 29, whereby the deflector contour 23 of the deflector element 15a contacts the door leaf 3a and thus prevents a collision between the door leaf 3a and the side wall 13a of the furniture body 2.
[0042] Fig. 7a shows a continued extension movement of the door leaf 3a from the receiving compartment 8a. The door leaf 3a can be slidably supported on the deflecting contour 23 of the deflecting element 15a, thus preventing a collision between the door leaf 3a and the side wall 13a and / or the cover. The control element 27 with the control cam 28, on the other hand, can be slidably supported on the cover 20, allowing the cover 20, together with the deflecting element 15a, to pivot about the axis of rotation 29.
[0043] Fig. 7b shows another position of the door leaf 3a, which can only be pivoted relative to the side wall 13a after it has been completely pulled out of the receiving compartment 8a. In this position, the first web 20a of the cover plate 20 is essentially parallel to the side wall 13a. Following the position of the door leaf 3a shown in Fig. 7b, it can be moved into a position covering the furniture body 2 (Fig. 1a). To prevent an undesired return movement of the cover plate 20 – caused by a force from the energy storage device 21 – it can be provided that the cover plate 20, in particular the first web 20a of the cover plate 20, is always supported against the control cam 28 of the control element 27 of the furniture hinge 10, from the position shown in Fig. 6b until the position in which the door leaf 3a covers the furniture body 2.
