A portable load-carrying device

Abstract

The present invention relates to a portable load-carrying device. A known load-carrying device with a safety locking mechanism is complex in design and requires regular maintenance; a solution for lower maintenance and improved usability is needed. The present invention discloses a portable load-carrying device (10) comprising a frame (20), a plurality of handles (30), a plurality of wheels (40), an electromechanical unit (50) and a toe plate (60). The electromechanical unit (50) comprises an electric lift actuator (52) positioned at the centre, attached to the frame (20), a rechargeable battery (54), and a switch (56). The plurality of wheels (40) is connected to the plurality of handles (30) via an elongated rod (90) within the frame (20) such that when the plurality of handles (30) is moved in one direction, the rod (90) guides the wheels (40) into a toe-out position thereby preventing the load-carrying device (10) from moving.
