An apparatus for pasteurizing fruitlets

Abstract

The present invention relates to an apparatus for pasteurizing fruitlets, characterized by: a vertical housing (1) having a hollow chamber (2); a horizontal divider (3) positioned at the midpoint of the housing (1), dividing the chamber (2) into an upper chamber (2a) and a lower chamber (2b) for airflow control; an inlet feeder (4) mounted on top of the housing (1) to receive fruitlets; a pair of interconnecting elongated passageways (5) affixed to the inner lining of the housing (1) extending from top housing (1) to the bottom of the housing (1) to receive fruitlets from the inlet feeder (4) and release fruitlets at the bottom of the housing (1); a shutter door (6) having a conveyor connected to the base of the housing (1) to release a predetermined volume of pasteurized fruitlets; a secondary blower (7) connecting to the lower chamber (2b) via heat duct to emit heat for pasteurizing fruitlets in the lower chamber (2b); a primary blower (8) connecting to the upper chamber (2a) via heat duct to emit heat for pasteurizing fruits in the upper chamber (2a); and a heat duct interconnecting the primary blower (8) and the secondary blower (7) to facilitate heat exchange.
