Abstract
The present invention discloses an mRNA rabies vaccine based on the glycoprotein sequence of the rabies virus strain. The present inventors optimized the G protein coding region of the rabies virus strain and developed a modified mRNA vaccine encapsulated by lipid nanoparticles using the rabies virus glycoprotein as an antigen. The mRNA provided by the present invention is translated in cells to produce high levels of rabies virus G protein. The mRNA is encapsulated in lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) to form a vaccine preparation that is effective in prophylaxis or treatment of rabies. Figure 1
