Abstract

The present invention provides a system and method for manufacturing composition-controlled photoluminescent nanoparticles from biomass-derived materials. The system (100) comprises a thermal processing unit (102) for moisture removal and crystalline structure modification, a size reduction unit (104) for producing controlled-dimension particles, and a classification unit (106) for achieving specific particle size distributions. A homogenization unit (108) ensures uniform dispersions with controlled solvent systems, while an energy-applied extraction unit (110) with an integrated solvent recovery system facilitates controlled nanoparticle extraction. A separation unit (112) isolates nanoparticle product-containing fractions, and a purification unit (114) refines the final nanoparticles to achieve defined composition and properties. The method (200) involves sequential thermal processing (202), size reduction (204), classification (206), dispersion (208), extraction (210), separation (212), and purification (214) steps to produce photoluminescent nanoparticles with tailored properties. The resulting nanoparticles exhibit tunable optical characteristics and are suitable for applications in wavelength conversion, chemical sensing, photovoltaics, photocatalysis, agriculture, and polymer composite modification. The invention enables efficient, scalable, and sustainable nanoparticle production. The most illustrative drawing is Figure 1.
