Vaccine against leptospirosis and method of development

Abstract

The present invention relates to vaccine peptides derived from the outer membrane protein LipL46 which is conserved across pathogenic and intermediate species of Leptospira, providing a broad-spectrum immune response, and to a method of developing epitope-based vaccine candidate of the same. Advantageously, the vaccine peptides capable of inducing an immune response specific to Leptospira, making them suitable for incorporation into peptide-based vaccine, multi-epitope vaccine or chimeric multi-epitope vaccine.
