Compressive spacers for positioning connector substrates

Abstract

A connector includes a housing, a first substrate and a second substrate at least partially positioned within the housing, and a spacer positioned between the first substrate and the second substrate. The spacer has a spacer body comprising an upper elongated cross-member and a lower elongated cross-member coupled together via a first column and a second column. An aperture is positioned between the first column and the second column. A first coupling member couples the first column to a first coupling arm, and a second coupling member couples the second column to a second coupling arm. The spacer maintains a position of the first substrate and the second substrate within the connector, and biases the substrates against a housing of the connector.
