Abstract

A casing for use in a centrifugal pump, the casing including an inlet for liquid, an internal volume defining a curved circumferential flow path, and a flow path outlet for liquid to exit the flow path into an outlet conduit, the internal volume including a first cutwater disposed to direct liquid from the flow path into the outlet conduit, and a second cutwater disposed within the outlet conduit so as to divide the outlet conduit into first and second outlet conduit branches, the second cutwater being disposed in a plane substantially perpendicular to the plane of the first cutwater.
