Abstract

A heat exchanger according to an aspect of the present disclosure includes a plurality of flat tubes each of which has a flat shape having a longitudinal direction in a first direction and a lateral direction in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction, the plurality of flat tubes being disposed side by side in a third direction intersecting the first direction and the second direction. The heat exchanger also includes a plurality of fins disposed side by side in the first direction, a header tube disposed along the third direction and provided with a plurality of holes into each of which one of opposite end parts of corresponding one of the plurality of flat tubes is fitted, and a header cap disposed in an opening of at least one of opposite end parts of the header tube. Then, the header tube has the opposite end parts described above that are each provided with a reduced width part with a width in the second direction, the width being smaller than a width of a central part of the header tube in the second direction, and the header cap is located in the reduced width part.
