Beverage composition comprising of water, milk and a water-soluble and insoluble fiber with harumanis and harumanis flavour

Abstract

This invention relates to a beverage product named drinks or milk containing flavored and unflavored dietary fiber with harumanis. The beverage product in the market is manufacture without using any dietary fiber incorporated with harumanis powder or paste or puree. This beverage product at the store gives a reasonable indication that it has lack in additional nutrient such as dietary fiber, minerals and vitamins. On the consumer perspective, current total fiber intake among adults’ averages about 15 grams per day. Many research have recommended that fiber can be consumed at a rate of 14g total fiber / I 000 kcals per day to reduce the risk of chronic disease. Recommendations for adult men are 30g - 38g total fiber / day, with 21g - 25g total fiber / day for adult women. Thus, most of the consumer are consuming less than recommended by the guideline. To overcome this problem, it is suggested to have a product containing dietary fiber. This beverage product of ready to drink and incorporated milk with dietary fiber and harumanis will help in promoting and increasing the dietary intake of consumer daily.
