TRAY, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING PLANTS

Abstract

A tray configured to retain a plurality of strip elements for producing, without the aid of a substrate, a plurality of plants from a plurality of plant cell collections is disclosed. The tray comprises: a plurality of elongated channels, each channel configured to retain one of the strip elements such that the liquid, when retained in the channel, comes into contact with one of the strip elements; and a plurality of elongated partition walls extending along respective longitudinal directions and separating the channels from each other. Each channel is configured to have a maximum liquid retention capacity of more than 0.1 ml and less than 5 ml per strip element cavity. A related system and method are also disclosed.
