Abstract

The invention is directed to a method for training and / or playing with a sport or game projectile, such as for instance a ball, a shuttle, or a disc. The method comprises a step of providing the sport or game projectile, and a step of providing a rebounder. The rebounder comprises a rebounding surface which is in the form of a substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface and is for rebounding the sport or game projectile. The method further includes a step of launching or propelling the sport or game projectile towards the rebounding surface of the rebounder, for instance by throwing, hitting or kicking said sport or game projectile, and yet a further step of allowing the rebounding surface to rebound said sport or game projectile which was launched or propelled towards it. Description

Title: Method, rebounder and kit of parts The invention relates to a method for training and / or playing with a sport or game projectile, such as for instance a ball, a shuttle, or a disc. The invention also relates to a rebounder, and to a kit of parts comprising a rebounder and a corresponding ball or other sport or game projectile. In particular for sports, games and training purposes, rebounders are often used to rebound a sport or game projectile, in particular a ball, by allow said sport or game projectile to bounce off the rebounder. For example, rebounders are used in tchoukball. Tchoukball is a team sport that seems to blend elements of handball, volleyball, and squash. The tchoukball court at which it is played resembles a handball court. Each of both lateral ends of the tchoukball court comprise a semicircular area called the "forbidden zone," in which a respective one of two rebounders is located. The players, who are not allowed to enter the forbidden zone when shooting the ball, pass the ball among their team and aim to throw it against the rebounder. When the ball bounces back from the rebounder and lands on the ground outside the forbidden zone the throwing team scores a point. The opposing team will however try to catch the ball before it hits the ground to prevent a point from being scored. A typical known rebounder, such as one used for tchoukball, resembles a trampoline and comprises a square frame, usually measuring 1 meter by 1 meter, which is provided with a tightly stretched mesh or netting, similar to a trampoline but relatively dense, which forms a rebounding surface. The square frame is typically mounted on a stand or legs, such that the rebounding surface is angled, typically at an angle of approximately 55 to 65 degrees. As another example, rebounders are used for training purposes, for instance by association football or so-called soccer players or keepers. A known rebounder used for soccer training or keeper training also comprises a frame, for instance a rectangular or circular frame, provided with a stretched net. However, for instance the dimensions and / or tilt, and for instance thus also the shape, of the frame and the rebounder surface may differ from that of a tchoukball rebounder. Although a tchoukball rebounder or another, for example more or less similar, rebounder may already be used for various purposes, there is a desire to enable providing a more versatile rebounder for rebounding a ball or other sport or game projectile. For instance therefore, double-sided rebounders have been proposed and marketed. It is noted that a double-side rebounder is known which comprises two tilted frames each provided with a respective stretched net. Said two frames are placed back to back and the upper edges of the two frames are connected to each other, such that said double-sided rebounder resembles a substantially triangular prism. It may be an object of the present disclosure to provide an alternative rebounder for rebounding a ball or other sport orgame projectile. In particular, it may be an object to provide a relatively multifunctional and / or relatively versatile rebounder, which for instance may provide a relatively versatile use. For example, in embodiments, the rebounder may preferably enable relatively versatile game play, and / or may enable a relatively versatile use, for instance during rehabilitation, kinesiology, sport training, recreational activities, fitness and / or physiotherapy. Further, it may be an alternative or additional object of the present disclosure to provide a set or a so-called kit of parts, in particular one for sport, training, or play, comprising at least one sport or game projectile, such as for instance a ball, a shuttle, or a disc, and further comprising at least one rebounder, in particular a relatively multifunctional and / or relatively versatile rebounder. An alternative or additional object of the present disclosure may be to provide a method, for instance a method for training and / or playing with a sport or game projectile, such as for instance a ball, a shuttle, or a disc, preferably wherein said method is a non-therapeutic method. In a first aspect, the invention provides for a method according to claim 1. Said method is for training and / or playing with a sport or game projectile, such as for instance a ball, a shuttle, or a disc. The method comprises a step of providing the sport or game projectile. Further, a rebounder is provided, which comprises a rebounding surface for rebounding the sport or game projectile, and wherein said rebounding surface is substantially dome-shaped. Moreover, the method comprises steps of launching or propelling the sport or game projectile towards the rebounding surface of the rebounder, for instance by throwing, hitting or kicking said sport orgame projectile, and allowing the rebounding surface to rebound said sport or game projectile which was launched or propelled towards it. It is noted that said method may preferably be a non-therapeutic method. For example, the method may be for training, such as sport training, leisure, recreational activities, and / or fitness activities. Further, it is noted that the skilled person will appreciate that launching or propelling the projectile is in particular done by human power, preferably by throwing it or kicking it. However, it may also be possible to propel or launch it by other means, such as for example by heading it, such as for instance in a manner corresponding to a headed ball in soccer, or by hitting it, for instance with ones bare hand or hands, as may done in volleyball, or hitting it with a separate object, such as for example a racket, a bat, a stick or the like. In a further aspect, the invention provides for a rebounder, wherein said rebounder comprises the substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface for rebounding the sport or game projectile. By providing a substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface, it can be facilitated that the sport or game projectile, for instance a ball, can be launched from one side of the rebounder towards the rebounder, and bounces off to the other side off the rebounding surface. This is, it can be facilitated that, depending for instance on the angle atwhich the sport or projectile comes in, said sport orgame projectile doesnt bounce back to the side from which it was launched. This means that the rebounder may thus for instance enable that a ball, or other sport or game projectile, which is thrown, kicked or propelled in any other suitable manner, such as for example hit, from for instance the front side onto a top region of the substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface can bounce off the rebounding surface in a further rearward direction. Actually, in case the rebounder is placed on a flat horizontal floor surface and the sport or game projectile hits the substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface in a direction with has both a horizontal and a downward component, said rebounder may facilitate that the sport or game projectile may, depending for instance on the angle at which it reaches the rebounding surface and for instance also depending on the local tangent to the rebounding surface, for example bounce off from the rebounding surface in any side ward direction, i.e. in a direction away from any lateral side of said rebounder. In particular, the rebounder may enable that the projectile can for example bounce off the rebounding surface in a direction substantially parallel to any one of the virtual planes through the virtual vertical central axis of the substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface. The projectile may essentially bounce off in any sideward direction, 360 degrees around the rebounder. This is for instance contrary to a tchoukball rebounder having a substantially flat rebounding surface being more upright than horizontal which, assuming the launched projectile does not have topspin or the like, could, when seen from above, for instance not bounce off said projectile in a direction extending from the direction it came from but will then bounce back to at least a certain extent. By forming said rebounding surface such that it has a substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface, the rebounder may enable relatively versatile game play, and / or may enable a relatively versatile use during for instance sport training or fitness, for instance by enabling that multiple players or users surrounding the rebounder can play together and can pass the projectile to each other via the substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface. In an advantageous embodiment according to the invention, the rebounder may comprise a main element defining the substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface, wherein said main element is inflatable. This may for instance enable that rebound properties of the rebounder can be adjusted, for instance by adjusting the pressure, for example to adjust them in regard of the used projectile and / or in regard of users or user preferences. For example, if the projectile is in the form of a relatively large and / or relatively heavy ball, such as a basketball ball, other rebound properties may be desired then when a relatively small and / or relatively light ball, such as for example a handball ball or tennis ball, is used as the projectile. By providing the substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface with multiple fields or so-called planes, which for example may have distinctive colours, users can be facilitated in predicting or estimating where they should let the projectile hit the substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface in order to let it rebound in a desired rebound direction. Although the fields or so-called planes may be formed by separate panels together forming the rebounding surface, said fields or so-called planes may alternatively, or additionally, be formed at least partly by printing them onto the material forming said rebounding surface. It will be appreciated by the skilled person that said rebounding surface may thus be integrally formed. In a further advantageous embodiment, the substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface, and / or a main element defining said substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface, may substantially resemble a portion of a sphere being smaller than half of the sphere. The height of the substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface, and / or a main element defining said substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface, may thus be smaller than the radius of the sphere. As a result, the tangent plane to surface at a location at or near a lower edge of the substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface may be tilted inwards, and not extend substantially vertically as would be the case in case the substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface would be formed as a half sphere, which has a height which is equal to the radius of the sphere. Preferably, the rebounder, in particular its substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface, may be arranged such that the steepest tangent to said surface tilts at least over an angle of 5 degrees, preferably over an angle of at least 10 degrees, such as over an angle of about 15 degrees. Additionally or alternatively, the height of the substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface, and / or a main element defining said substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface, may be at most 4 / 5 of said radius, more preferably at most 3 / 4 of said radius such as for instance about 2 / 3 of said radius. On the other hand, it is also advantageous if the ratio between the height and the radius is not too small. For example, said height may be at least 1 / 2 of said radius, preferably at least 3 / 5 of said radius, such as for instance about 2 / 3 of said radius. The invention also relates to a set, or a so-called kit of parts, comprising the rebounder and further comprising at least one sport or game projectile as well. In preferred embodiments, the projectile may be a ball, for instance a handball ball, a volleyball ball, a dodgeball ball, a softball ball, a basketball ball, a futsal ball, an association football or so-called soccer ball, an American football ball, a rugby ball, a tennis ball, a baseball ball, or any other suitable ball. However, in alternative embodiments, the projectile may be an other sport or game projectile, such as for example a shuttle, a disc, for instance in the form of a frisbee or even in the form of a puck, a ring, for instance a rubber ring or the like, etc. In a further aspect, the invention also relates to an arrangement comprising a playfield or so-called court provided with the rebounder, wherein the rebounder is placed on the playfield and the playfield extends around the rebounder, preferably wherein the rebounder is located substantially in the centre of the playfield. In particular, the playfield may preferably be provided with one single rebounder only. Other advantageous embodiments according to the invention are described in the following claims. Fig. 1 shows a schematic perspective view of two people 2A, 2B playing with a ball 3 and a rebounder 1. A side-view and a top-view of said rebounder can be seen in Fig. 2 and Fig. 3, respectively. The play may for example have a training purpose or may be just for fun. As can be seen in Fig. 1, as well as in Fig. 4 and Fig. 5, in the here shown embodiments, the players 2 play with a ball 3A which can be launched or propelled toward the rebounder 1 (see arrow A) and which can subsequently bounce off the rebounder 1 (see arrow B). Different games may be played with the rebounder 1, for example a game which somehow resembles tchoukball to a certain extent. However, other kind of games may be played as well. For example, a game may be played in which a player2A of a first team projects the ball 3A, or another sport or game projectile, towards the rebounder 1 and once said projectile 3 bounces off from the rebounder 1 and is caught by a player 2B from the same team a point is scored by the team who propelled the ball 3A or other sport or game projectile 3. It is possible that only points can be scored when the projectile 3 is propelled while the respective player 2A propelling the projectile 3 was in a certain section of the playfield 4 when he propelled the projectile and / or that only points can be scored when the projectile 3 is caught in a certain part of the playfield 4. It will be appreciated that players from a competing team may try to intercept the projectile 3, either to prevent a player 2B to catch the rebounded projectile and / or even from reaching the rebounder1 in the first place. However, it may also be that there are rules that which prohibit a player 2B from obstructing the ball 3A or other projectile 3, once is it thrown or otherwise propelled, to reach the rebounder 1. It will be appreciated that although only two players 2A, 2B are shown in Fig. 1, there may be more players, for example an equal number of players in each team playing at the same time, such for example two, three, four, five, six, seven or even more than seven players per team. Additionally or alternatively, there may be more than two teams, such as for example three or four teams. It is also possible that each team has only one person 2, which may make it more or less a free for all game. It will be appreciated that all kinds of different games may be played with the rebounder 1. Additionally or alternatively, it may be used for other purposes, for example fitness or training purposes. As mentioned above, instead of a ball 3A, another sport or game projectile 3 may be used as the projectile 3, for example a shuttle, a disc, a ring or the like. Additionally or alternatively, instead of throwing, the sport or game projectile 3 may be launched in a different manner. For example, it may be propelled by kicking or hitting it, for example hitting it with an object, such as for instance a racket, a bat, a stick, etc. Preferably, the rebounder 1 may be placed relatively centrally in a playfield or on a floor 4, in particular such that the playfield may extend around the rebounder 1 at all lateral sides of said rebounder 1. This may enable that players 2 can spread around the rebounder 1, as can be seen in Fig. 4, and may facilitate that a relatively small floor surface may be needed to play or train with the rebounder 1. It is noted that this may also make the present rebounder 1 relatively well suitable for indoor use, in particular in relatively small rooms. As can be seen for instance in Fig. 1, the rebounder1 comprises a substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface 10 for rebounding the sport or game projectile 3. The rebounder 1, the substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface 10, and / or a main element 11 defining the substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface 10 can for example have a height in the range of 20 cm to 100 cm, preferably in the range of 25 cm to 80 cm, more preferably in the range of 30 cm to 70 cm, yet more preferably in the range 35 cm to 60 cm, such as for instance in the range of 40 cm to 50 cm, for example about 45 cm. The dome-shape of the rebounding surface 10 may enable that the ball 3A, or another projectile, may, depending for instance at least on the direction (see arrow A) from which it is incoming, bounce off (see arrow B) in any lateral direction of the rebounder 1. This is contrary to for example the inclined, but relatively steep flat rebounding surface of a conventional tchoukball rebounder, which typically allows the ball substantially only to bounce off to one side, in particular the side to which the rebounding surface is facing, i.e. substantially only in lateral directions over about 180 degrees. However, the substantially some-shaped rebounding surface 10 of the present rebounder 1 may, depending for instance at least on the direction (see arrow A) from which it is incoming, allow the ball 3A essentially to bounce off in any sideward direction, i.e. substantially in any direction around the rebounder 1, thus over a circumference of 360 degrees around the rebounder 1, as for example can be understood from Figs. 4 and 5. Advantageously, the substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface 10 may be formed by an inflatable main element 11. For example, itmay be made at least partially from a flexible PVC or the like. The rebounding surface 10 may preferably be substantially smooth. In preferred embodiments, the substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface 10 of the rebounder 1 may be free of ridges, bumps, or any other protruding elements, which for instance may be considered as being at least free any protrusions protruding further than 1 mm away from the rebounding surface, more preferably free of any protrusions protruding further than 0.5 mm away from the rebounding surface 10, yet more preferably free of any protrusions protruding further than 0.3mm away from the rebounding surface 10. The rebounding surface 10, in particular if it is free of irregularities like ridges, bumps, or other protruding elements, may be substantially smooth. This may be highly advantageous because it can facilitate enabling that the projectile 3 bounces off in a relatively predictable and / or relatively consistent manner, and may minimize undesired deflections which could make the projectile 3 to bounce off in strange directions, which otherwise could occur in case the rebounding surface 10 would have had a more uneven rebounding surface with protrusions like ridges or the like, which are for instance relatively common on the outer surface of inflatable gym balls and the like. As can be seen relatively well in Figs. 1, 3, 4 and 5, the substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface 10 may comprises multiple fields 12 or so-called planes 12. Although the fields 12 or so-called planes 12 may be formed by separate panels which together may form the rebounding surface 10, and which for example may be welded to each other, said fields or so-called planes 12 may preferably be integral portions of said rebounding surface 10, and may for example be provided by printing them onto the material forming said rebounding surface 10. This may for example counteract the presence of seams or the like, and may thus counteract that the rebounding surface 10 is relatively uneven. Advantageous, each field 12 or so-called plane 12 of the multiple fields 12 or so-called planes 12 has a visual appearance differing from the visual appearance of any one of the multiple fields 12 or so-called planes 12 directly adjacent to said respective field or so-called plane, such that two directly adjacent fields 12A, 12B or so-called planes 12A, 12B do not share a common or visual appearance. As can be seen in the figures, the multiple fields or so-called planes 12 may be substantially wedge-shaped and may then taper from their respective base near a lower end of the substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface 10 to their respective tip. In particular, the tips may meet at the centre of the top of the substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface 10. Although the substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface 10 is comprised of six substantially wedge-shaped fields or so-called planes 12A-12F in the here shown exemplary embodiments, it may comprise another number of substantially wedge-shaped fields or so-called planes 12 in alternatively embodiments, such as for example three, four or eight of them. For example, the number of substantially wedge-shaped fields 12 may be an even number, such as for example four, six or eight, and any two adjacent ones of the fields may then have different visual appearances from each other, by only providing two different visual appearances. For instance, a first one 12A may have a first visual appearance, for example provided by providing it 12A with a first colour, and a second one 12B may a have a second visual appearance, for example by providing it with a second colour, whereas the third one may then have substantially the same visual appearance as the first one 120 and a fourth one 12D may have substantially the same visual appearance as the second one, etc. The substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface 10 and / or the main element 11 defining said substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface 10 may preferably substantially resembles a portion of a sphere, wherein said portion of the sphere is smaller than half of the sphere. The height of said main element 11 may thus be less than 1 / 2 of the height of a complete sphere. Preferably, said height of the main element may be at most 2 / 5 of the height of a complete sphere. More preferably, the height may be less than 3 / 8 of the height of a complete sphere, such as for example about 1 / 3 of the height of a complete sphere, as is schematically shown in the exemplary embodiment of Fig. 2. Additionally or alternatively, the rebounder 1, in particular its substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface 10, may be arranged such that the most vertical, i.e. steepest, tangent to said surface 10 tilts at least over an angle or of 5 degrees, preferably over an angle or of at least 10 degrees, more preferably over an angle or of at least 15 degrees, yet more preferably an angle or of at least 20 degrees. As can be seen in Figs. 3, 4 and 5, the substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface 10 and / or a main element 11 defining said surface 10, may define a substantially round base. The rebounder 1, the substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface 10, and / or a main element 11 defining the substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface, in particular at its respective lower end, may have a largest width and / or largest diameter in the range of 60 cm to 180 cm, preferably in the range of 80 cm to 160 cm, more preferably in the range of 100 cm to 140 cm, yet more preferably in the range of 110 cm to 125 cm, such as for example in the range 115 cm to 120 cm. The height of the dome-shaped rebounding surface 10, extending transverse to its substantially round base, may be smaller than the radius of said substantially round base. Preferably, said height may be at most 4 / 5 of said radius, more preferably at most 3 / 4 of said radius, such as for instance about 2 / 3 of said radius. This may for instance facilitate that a relatively large surface area of the rebounding surface 10 can be effectively used. In particular, since also the lower regions of the rebounding surface 10 may thus not extend too steep, for instance as the above-mentioned angle or may for example be at least 15 degrees or even at least 20 degrees, it may be facilitated that the ball 3A or another launched object 3 can bounce off relatively easily in a direction which is at least partially upwards, thus for instance without having to provide the object 3 with too much spin or the like upon launching it. Advantageously, the rebounder 1 may be arranged such that, when the rebounder 1 is placed on a flat floor surface 4, the substantially dome-shaped rebounding surface 10 extends substantially up from the floor 4. In particular, the rebounding surface 10 may start substantially directly from the floor or, for instance depending on the dimension of the game of sport device used as the projectile 3, at a height of at most 10 cm, preferably at most 7 cm, more preferably at most 5, such for example at most 3 cm or at most 2cm, measured in a vertical direction traverse to said floor surface 4. The rebounder1 may comprise a base part 15, for example made of a relatively rigid material, such as for example a substantially rigid ring or substantially rigid disc, to which the inflatable main part 11 is attached. The base part 15, which for example may be made of a rigid PVC material, may be arranged such that the rebounder1 can be positioned relatively stable on an underground and can provide a relatively good resistance to moving, in particular sliding. For example, its bottom surface (now shown) may be provided with an anti-skid coating and / or one or more anti-skid pads or mats or the like. In embodiments, the bottom surface of the base part 15 may be provided with a rubber, foam or silicone material or the like. Additionally, or alternatively, said bottom surface may be provided with a texture which may may increase friction in order to hold the rebounder 1 in place. However, additionally or alternatively, other means may be provided for keeping the rebounder 1 in place, such as for example a weight, one or more suctions cups (for instance for indoor use), one or more field anchors (for example for outdoor use), one or more loops or other means for attaching or mounting anchors (for example for outdoor use), and / or any other suitable means. Preferably, the base part 15 cannot interfere with a projectile 3 thrown or otherwise launched towards the rebounder 1. For instance therefore, the base part 15 may be arranged such that it does not substantially protrude beyond the sphere of which the substantially spherical rebounding surface 10 is part and / or does not substantially protrude beyond said substantially spherical rebounding surface 10. For example, the base part 15 does not extend mot than 5 cm from said sphere, preferably not more than 3 cm from said sphere, more preferably not more than 2 cm from said sphere, yet more preferably not more than 1 cm from said sphere.
