Cutting a flower bulb into smaller pieces

Abstract

In the field of propagation of flower bulbs, a method of cutting a flower bulb into smaller pieces by means of a device comprising at least one cutter element (10) and a tray (20) configured to support the flower bulb is provided. The flower bulb is placed on the tray (20) in its entirety and in uncut condition. Subsequently, the tray (20) with the flower bulb on it and the cutter element (10) are moved relative to each other in such a way that a dividing cut is made in the flower bulb. This way of doing enables making the dividing cut in the flower bulb in only a portion of the flower bulb, so that another portion of the flower bulb can be used as a support portion of the cut portion until a further action aimed at separating the cut portion from the support portion is taken.
