BATTERY SYSTEM

Abstract

A battery system which includes a plurality of batteries; and a control arrangement which includes a switch arrangement which is electrically connected to each battery of the plurality of batteries, wherein the switch arrangement has an operative mode and an inoperative mode, wherein when the switch arrangement is in its operative mode, it connects the plurality of batteries in series in order to establish a system voltage which is higher than a battery voltage of any one of the plurality of batteries, and when the switch arrangement is in its inoperative mode, the switch arrangement ensures that there is no series connection between the plurality of batteries.
