Abstract

The present invention relates to a lid from a moulded fiber material, packaging unit comprising such lid and method for manufacturing the lid. The lid according to the invention comprising: - a cover part having one or more clamping elements and being configured for covering a packaging unit, and having a cover density; and - a breathing element that is provided in the cover part, Wherein the breathing element is configured to allow steam to pass through and leave the packaging unit, and Wherein the breathing element comprises a breathing density that is smaller as compared to the cover density.
