Abstract

A method for detecting a subsurface boulder based on acquired full wavefield seismic data of a region is disclosed. The method is performed by a processor and comprises the steps of: obtaining diffraction data by applying seismic diffraction separation to the full wavef1eld seismic data, and detecting a boulder by identifying a diffraction pattern representing the boulder from the obtained diffraction data; wherein the full wavef1eld seismic data comprises 3D ultra-ultra-high-resolution, UUHR, seismic wavef1eld data. Unlocking insights from Geo- Data, the present invention further relates to improvements in sustainability and environmental developments: together we create a safe and liveable world.
