Abstract

Disclosed in this disclosure are a symmetric support system and method for controlling a roadway surrounding rock. The system includes: a drilling device, configured to drill a plurality of uniformly distributed anchor holes on a wall of the roadway surrounding rock; rock anchor members, having the same quantity as the anchor holes, and sequentially anchored in the anchor holes; an arch frame, formed by splicing a plurality of arch plate frames, and braced by a support body fixedly disposed in a roadway, to be tightly attached to the wall of the roadway surrounding rock. In this disclosure, before mounting the arch frame, the system first performs high-pressure grouting on a deep surrounding rock through the rock anchor members. Grout penetrates into a roof stratum, an immediate roof, and a main roof, enhancing the integrity and bearing capacity of a rock mass in advance.
