Wire coating

Abstract

Disclosed is a method of coating a metal wire as well as the resultant coated metal wire (10). The method comprises applying a first polymeric coating (16) to an external surface (14) of the metal wire and allowing or causing the first polymeric coating to solidify, dry or cure (i.e. on the metal wire). The method also comprises applying a second polymeric coating (18) to an external surface of the solidified, dried or cured first polymeric coating (16). The method can produce a ‘polymer-on-polymer’ coated metal wire (10) that finds particular application in agricultural fencing applications, especially in environments that present high salinity and / or corrosive soils and atmospheres.
