Trolley System and Associated Rails and Tracks

Abstract

A transport system comprising a powered trolley (43) and a control system that controls operation of the powered trolley. The powered trolley is configured to traverse a track comprising a cable section (44), a rail section (130), and a transition section between the cable section and the rail section. The control system comprises a controller, at least one trolley sensor, and external signalling means. The controller is configured to control movement of the powered trolley based on sensor output and external signalling as the powered trolley traverses the cable section, the rail section, and when moving between the cable section and the rail section, the transition section.
