Abstract
The present disclosure is generally directed to a ground engaging tool (e.g., a wear member, an excavating tooth, etc.) assembly including a locking pin assembly configured to secure a ground engaging member to a support structure. The locking pin assembly includes a rotatable lock portion; a body portion coupled to the rotatable lock portion; a head disposed at a proximal end of an outer surface of the body portion, the head having a non-circular perimeter including at least one flat side; and a tip disposed at a distal end of the outer surface, the tip having a non-circular peripheral profile with at least one flat side. Engagement of the head and the tip with the ground engaging member prevents rotation of the body portion relative to the ground engaging member. The locking pin assembly advantageously includes an improved locking structure for preventing inadvertent unlocking of the locking pin assembly
