Abstract

A material displacement apparatus generally includes wear members (e.g., excavating teeth) removably attached to a support structure (e.g., an excavating bucket) by a connector structure. General usage of the apparatus can result in undesirable rotation and disengagement of the connector structure. The present disclosure provides a wear member assembly that includes a rotatable locking pin assembly configured to connect a wear member to a support structure. The wear member includes a bore through the wear member, an installation ramp, and a removal ramp configured to engage a tang of the locking pin assembly. As the tang is rotated within the bore, its engagement with an angled portion and a flat portion of the installation ramp translates rotation of the tang into axial displacement, advantageously providing rotational interference to prevent inadvertent unlocking of the locking pin assembly.
