Method and apparatus for encoding / decoding image

Abstract

Some embodiments relate to an image decoding method performed by an image decoding apparatus, the method comprising: determining a partitioning type of a coding block based on partitioning information for specifying the partitioning type, the partitioning type comprising a first partitioning type which partitions the coding block into four identical sub-blocks in a horizontal direction and a second partitioning type which partitions the coding block into four identical sub-blocks in a vertical direction; partitioning the coding block into a plurality of the sub-blocks based on the partitioning type; determining a scan order of the sub-blocks based on the partitioning type of the coding block; and generating a prediction block of the coding block by performing intra prediction for each of the plurality of the sub-blocks.
