Method and apparatus for encoding / decoding image

Abstract

Some embodiments relate to an image decoding method performed by an image decoding apparatus, the method comprising: determining an intra prediction mode of a coding block; determining whether to perform interpolation filtering on reference samples of the coding block based on the intra prediction mode; performing the interpolation filtering on the reference samples based on the determination that the interpolation filtering is performed on the reference samples; generating a prediction block of the coding block based on the filtered reference samples; generating a residual block of the coding block; and reconstructing the coding block based on the prediction block and the residual block, wherein the interpolation filtering is performed using one among a plurality of interpolation filters, and wherein the plurality of interpolation filters are 4-tap filters.
