Abstract

The present invention relates to a smeltingfumace arrangement comprising a first smeltingfumace (15a) and a second smelting furnace(15b), wherein the first and second smelting furnaces (15a, 15b) comprise a reaction shaft end comprising a reaction shaft end wall (16a, 16b) and an uptake shaft end comprising an uplake shaft end wall (21a, 21b), wherein the reaction shaft end wall (16a) of the first smelting furnace (15a) is located at a distance (X) from the reaction shaft end wall (16b) of the second smelting furnace(15b), and wherein the distance (X) is less than 20m.
