Abstract

The présent invention relates to a method for marking a hydrocarbon product (HP) by using at least two markers, wherein the at least two markers bave at least one same atom and / or functional group and the markers have différent boiling points and / or différent distillation profiles. The markers are selected in such a way that the entire range of the distillation température T(BpL) an T(BpE) of the HP is covered. An atom portion originating from individual markers Ml and M2 in a marker mixture Mx is determined by performing a régression analysis for at least part of the distillation température range of the HP. Based on said analysis a marker mixture Mx is calculated and added to mark a HP. The invention also relates to a fuel marked by the method and methods for detecting adultération in HP.
