Abstract

The present invention relates to compounds of formula (I), wherein: R1 is (CH3)3N-CH2CH2-O-, among others; RA is -CO2H, among others; RB is amino, hydroxy, or fluorine; R2 is naphthyl, among others; R3 is –(CH2)mCO2H, –(CH2)mCO2NH2, among others; R4 is C1-C3 alkyl; R5 is H, C1-C3 alkyl, or -CH2CO2H; X1, X2, and X3 are independently C(H) or N; RD is hydroxy, among others; A2 is H, halo, or C1-C3 alkyl; R6 is -H, -NH2, among others; R7 is H, among others; R8 is -H, -F, -OH, among others; R9 is -C9 or –CH2-C9; C9 is phenyl, among others; the subscript m is 1 or 2; the subscript t is 0 or 1; the subscript w is 0 or 1; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The invention also relates to a pharmaceutical composition comprising the compound or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof together with a pharmaceutically acceptable vehicle.The compound and its pharmaceutically acceptable salts can trap IL-1beta, as well as allow the treatment of cardiovascular diseases and inflammatory disorders.
