Abstract
A wave-generating system (1) for generating W waves by means of a plurality of sequential modules (19) placed in adjacent locations delimited by intermediate structures (10). Each sequential module (19) comprises a movable element capable of causing disturbances for the formation of W waves in a forward water zone (2a) of the water mass (2). Each movable element is provided with an enlarged portion (21; 61; 71; 81) that is located forward of a lower portion of the intermediate structures (10). The configuration of sequential modules (19) and intermediate structures (10) thus obtained helps to prevent the generated W wave from being affected by turbulence, usually present at the outlet of the intermediate partitions, as the intermediate structures (10) of the invention are located further back. The system allows the generation of a variety of wave types with different directions of travel at a reduced energy cost.
